Here is the chance to pack a change of clothes and a sleeping-bag and head off for up to a month of walking or cycling through 600 kms of Australia’s gold rush history.
The Golden Trail follows the route taken by the Chinese miners who walked over 600 kms from Robe in South Australia to the Bendigo goldfields some 150 years ago.
The Golden Trail currently exists and has already been completed by several groups of both cyclists and walkers, relying on their own resources (camping or back-up vehicles). And now a huge project is under way to provide an infrastructure of roofed shelters and signage to make it possible for many more people to enjoy this unique experience.
The aim is to make it as accessible as possible and have you exploring towns and countryside you might not otherwise have thought of visiting.
Immerse yourself in the history of Australia’s gold rush and create your own life-changing journey.
Immerse yourself in
the historical makings of our nation and create for yourself a life-changing journey.
